Blog changes and a new direction is here! It’s been a while since I’ve posted anything, (about three weeks). While my personal beliefs and my love for God haven’t wavered, the direction of the blog has. I’m taking the plunge and going on a journey to teach myself how to sew. It took me most of one day last week to organize all the fabrics I’ve been buying since last year.
I must say I had no idea I had accumulated so much, boy was I surprised!
I have fleece
chiffon and lace
and so much more! Oh my, I think I have a fabric addiction. I’m so excited to get started! There are so many things I want to sew but I have no idea where to begin. I think I’ll start with a pillowcase or sham.
I know, I can hear the groan… oh gosh, not another pillowcase as if anyone needs another pillowcase tutorial!
A pillowcase is a good beginner friendly project. It’s a good way to learn how to sew in a straight line, it’s a quick and easy, and it doesn’t use a lot of fabric.
After that, a straight skirt is a good runner up on the to-do-list. It also doesn’t use a lot of fabric, and it has just the right amount of curve in the hip section to challenge you a bit. I’ll tell you more about what I plan on sewing as I go along. Now it’s time for you to participate, have you ever wanted to draft your own pattern? What do you like/dislike about sewing? If you already sew, what is your favorite or least favorite thing to sew?
Well, that’s my two cents for now. Until next time, design something, go ahead and make it, but don’t forget to share it so you can inspire someone else.
